The United Kingdom and the European Union finally reached a trade agreement

The United Kingdom and the European Union finally reached a trade agreement, which means that no duties or quotas will apply to the movement of goods of each other’s origin after the end of the transitional period.

From 01.01.2021, Great Britain will become a third country for the European Union. It should therefore be borne in mind that export and import procedures between the United Kingdom and the Member States of the European Union are becoming more time-consuming and complex.

Businesses in the European Union which have trade relations with the United Kingdom and which wish to export or import goods there must taken into account:

  • Goods are declared each time they leave (export) or enter the EU (import);
  • Import taxes are paid with a customs declaration;
  • The customs declaration is submitted electronically and the EORi number required for this purpose;
  • The use of goods is allowed only after customs operations.

If you want to reduce paperwork or your company has questions, we will be happy to help you with any issues related to the movement of goods.
